.  Viceroy Arredondo St. Apartments  .

Residential Building.
Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Argentina. 2007.

This apartment building in a street corner, is located in diagonal to a park and behind it, there is grill of railways. The volumetric result of the building was highly conditioned by the small dimensions of the land (12m x 12m) and city regulations.
The logic idea was then to focus on the design of the facades of both the front and setbacks. The façades on both streets were conceived as a single continuous concrete element that folds to form the corner. Each floor, as a counterpoint between a hollow space and mass, has a configuration of openings that changes in size and location, giving each department different relationships with the park and a particular character within the context of a typical repetitive plans building.
The balconies are located at both ends of the façade by way of transition between the concrete skin and the adjoining constructions, accentuating in this way, its weightlessness.
In short, we intended to reflect on the development of a corner building, searching for new solutions to this classic architecture theme.
