Royal Canal

Status: Competition

Year: 2005

Location: Dublin, Ireland

It was decided to organize the project from the reformulation of the channel and its borders.
The Channel is considered as the central axis that organizes the different urban spaces.
The project is summarized in the interaction of interchangeable floating and mobile elements, located in different areas of the channel. The result is a unique park of strong character and versatility.
The structure is based on small elements, some fixed and others mobile, that are arranged along the banks of the canal in the manner of train cars.
Therefore, it is a reinterpretation of a DNA strand, a way to give a collective nature to the park.
The multiplicity of options and combinations that arise from here allows variations to its configuration that will adapt in time, to the evolution of the city itself.
