Status: Built

Year: 2011

Location: Bilbao, Spain

Project team: Balmori Associates, LANTEC

This park is the last sector to develop within the Masterplan of Abandoibarra, whose function is to connect all of the public spaces that surround it and to envelop the university and residential buildings housed. Through a series of terraces it hereby opens a system of connections that carry the pedestrians at the estuary of the Bilbao Ria.
Each terrace and its respective path are treated distinctly, creating a new experience in each particular way.
At the edges of the park boundaries with the street Mazarredo and Deusto Bridge, two separate stainless steel liners were created, in one case, to hide a retaining wall and in the other, to cover the low bridge. These new "metal walls," dialogue with the rest of the items proposed for the Campa as well as clearly define the boundaries of the park.
Within the terraced topography of the park it was designed a pavilion service; this materialized as an accident in the topography of the terraces achieving in this manner, along with the moss garden, the gardens of Iberdrola and the perimeter retaining walls, areas of different character.
